Jossy del Monte is the stage name of Joseph K. from Montabaur. – Jossy del Monte (1943–2020) performed lip syncs to several mambo songs by Yma Sumac in her career as a female impersonator and entertainer since the late 1980s. Gopher Mambo, Bo Mambo and Malambo No. 1 were part of her repertoire. Her self-designed and self-sewn costumes, which she continued to develop over the years became more and more elaborate and sophisticated. After leaving the famous Pulverfass Cabaret in 2016, Jossy made several appearances at the Magnus-Hirschfeld-Centrum, Hamburg. Her interpretation of „Malambo No. 1“ with her funny face comedy as well as the surprising and funny act of exposing her false bosom were well received by audiences. Jossy passed away on 9 February 2020 and found her final resting place in Hamburg, Germany.
